About Us

For nearly 40 years, Hospice of Chattanooga has provided family-focused care to meet the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and their loved ones. Today, our commitment to provide compassionate care is as strong as ever. That’s why we’ve created Alleo Health System, a healthcare organization that encompasses each arm of the Hospice of Chattanooga family, from our palliative care program, private duty sitting service to our children’s care and grief support programs.

Since our founding in 1980, Hospice of Chattanooga has expanded both in geographic reach and in scope of services. Currently, we serve 37 counties in Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia and provide hospice, palliative, and children’s care alongside caregiver and grief support services.

“As we continue to grow across the region and make a difference in the lives of even more people, it’s important to have a name that is reflective of our capabilities and our reach. With a renewed call to be ever future-forward and further-serving of our communities, we set out to find a name that conveys the passion, commitment, and inspiration we find, as an organization, in the important work we do”, says CEO Tracy Wood.

The name of our new umbrella company —Alleo—is derived from the word “allay,” which means to alleviate and provide comfort. This meaning rings true as it highlights and celebrates our mission of providing comfort and compassion to families in need. Alleo Health not only provides us a brand name synonymous with compassionate care, it promotes both our forward-thinking and future-forward expansion of care services in more communities across the southeast.

As Alleo Health now embodies it’s full family of care, we will remain true to the Hospice of Chattanooga mission of providing family-focused care that is rooted in compassion, accountability, communication, enthusiasm, and excellence as we look toward the future. We will continue to further enrich our community through education, planning, and nurturing the aging process, and will remain the same fully committed, dedicated organization that has made a difference in our community all these years — now with the power to help even more people.
